Characterised by Hard stools and difficulty in passage of stools, Constipation may be associated with burning sensation, pain and occasional bleeding and itching at anal region which may increase due to forced passage of stools. It may be associated with a small pile pass near the anal opening (Sentinel tag). It is a common issue seen in patients who sit for long time.

According to Ayurveda, this occurs due to dominance of Vaata Dosha, Pitta Dosha, Aama Dosha and Angimaandya is termed as Parikartika.

Treatment:

• Ayurvedic medications are advised after understanding the case in detail.

Panchakarma Treatment:

• Snehana, Swedana, Basti are some key Panchakarma treatments which may be performed as per necessicity under strict medical supervision.

Helpful Tips

• - Avoid having diet that increases Vaata Dosha, Pitta Dosha and which is heavy to digest like Curd, Sprouts, Bakery Products, Fermented foods, Non Veg etc. Do regular exercise. Avoid spicy food.
