Highlights of disease
Diabetic foot means chronic wound at feet in Diabetic patients. It is generally caused due to raised and uncontrolled sugar levels and reduced blood circulation at wound site or involved area.
According to Ayurveda, this occurs due to dominance of Kapha Dosha/ Vaata Dosha and Aama Dosha, Dhatu Shaithilya especially of Meda dhatu and Kleda with or without Krimi Sansarga.
Treatment:
- Ayurvedic internal medications along with local applications and regular dressing with Ayurvedic medicines are advised after understanding the case in detail.
Panchakarma Treatment:
- Snehana, Swedana, Basti, Virechan, Vamana, Raktamokshnana, Lepana, Dhavana are some key Panchakarma treatments which may be performed as per necessicity under strict medical supervision.
Helpful Tips
- Avoid having diet that increases Kapha Dosha and Vaata Dosha and which is heavy to digest like Curd, Bakery Products, Fermented foods, oily food, outside eatables, spicy food etc. Avoid food items that are sticky in nature e.g. rice, custard apple etc. Have green vegetables regularly and do regular exercise.
