Characterised by severe pain in abdomen in the loin region which may radiate upto groin region, Urinary calculus may be associated with nausea and vomitting. It generally occurs due to obstruction of a urinary calculus in the Kidney or the Ureters. It aggrevates generally at the night time.
According to Ayurveda, this occurs due to dominance of Vaata Dosha, Aama Dosha and Angimaandya is termed as Mootrashmari.
Treatment:
- Ayurvedic medications are advised after understanding the case in detail. In acute condition, the medicines given reduce the complaints, while in chronic conditions its helps to pass the stone as a whole or by breaking into small pieces with help of Ayurvedic medicines.
Panchakarma Treatment:
- Snehana, Swedana, Basti, Uttarbasti, Virechan are some key Panchakarma treatments which may be performed as per necessicity under strict medical supervision.
Helpful Tips
- Avoid having diet that increases Vaata Dosha and which is heavy to digest like Curd, Sprouts, Bakery Products, Fermented foods, sour and oily food etc. Avoid having vegetables which have seeds and have high content of Calcium and Uric acid. Do regular exercise and Yoga. Have sufficient amount of water and fluids.
