Highlights of disease

Anaemia is characterized by lack of RBCs or Haemoglobin. Its symptoms include pallor, fatigue, shortness of breath, weakness etc. It is seen generally due to nutritional deficiency mainly of Iron, Folic acid and Vitamin B12. It may also be seen due to Thalassemia and neoplasms of Bone marrow.

According to Ayurveda, Pandu Roga is characterized by Akshikuta shotha (Periorbital swelling), Hrudspandana (Palpitation), Panduta (Pallor), bodyache, fatigue, loss of appetite, breathlessness etc. It occurs due to dominance of Pitta Dosha and Dushti of Rasavaha Srotasa, Raktavaha Srotasa, Rasa Dhatu, Rakta Dhatu, Meda Dhatu and Agnimaandya.
