Characterised by blurring of vision, Cataract generally occurs at old age due to degeneration of the lens.
According to Ayurveda, this occurs due to dominance of Vaata Dosha.
Treatment:
- Ayurvedic medications are advised after understanding the case in detail. If diagnosed and treated in early stage, the progression of Cataract can be avoided. But there are limitations to the treatment once there is complete opacification of the lens.
Panchakarma Treatment:
- Netra Basti is one of the key Panchakarma treatments which may be performed as per necessicity under strict medical supervision.
Helpful Tips
- Avoid having diet that increases Vaata Dosha, Pitta Dosha and which is heavy to digest like Curd, Sprouts, Bakery Products, Fermented foods, Non Veg etc. Do regular exercise. Avoid spicy food.
