Dengue fever is a type of fever caused due to Dengue virus and spreads generally due to Aedes aegypti mosquito. Characterized by high grade fever, Dengue may be associated with red coloured rash, itching, bodyache and fatigue. Also, fall in the platelet count is an important thing to be taken care in cases of Dengue. It takes roughly 7 to 10 days to recover from Dengue, but the duration may extend in some cases.
According to Ayurveda, this occurs due to dominance of Pitta Dosha and Aama Dosha along with Agantuja Krimi Sansarga. It is termed as Agantuja Pittaja Nava Jwara.
- Ayurvedic internal medications along with local applications are advised after understanding the case in detail. The medicines given not only take care of the fever but also reduce the after effects of Dengue and help increase the Platelet count.
- Mrudu Virechan may be advised depending upon case.
- Avoid having diet that increases Pitta Dosha and which is heavy to digest like Curd, Bakery Products, Fermented foods, oily food, outside eatables, spicy food etc. Have soft, light and bland diet. Take proper rest and maintain hydration.
